Swift Gift

The OS for nonprofts

S ’21 Edtech B2B-Saas

Software tools for large non profits are either archaic, non-existant, or lacking. Yash and I sought to build solutions for this user group starting with Stanford as a design partner.

At the top of the funnel, our “beachhead” was software to track donations of gift securities. Attributing donations of stock to donors is suprisingly difficult as brokerages making transfers don’t disclose their client’s identity. We built a webapp to expedite this forensic work.

While we were able to build a fully functionally MVP, due to the sensitive nature of donor information we had to face a data risk assesment by the university which can take up to 9 months. Seeing that this would be prohibitive of quick iteration and learning as well as facing a very small market of large non profits, we ended up shelving the project.
